Wow. Where to even begin? More than anything else this presentation by Pranav Mistry proves how constricted our minds to possibility and creativity. All of this technology until twenty minutes ago was the stuff of science fiction novels and blockbuster movies. This speaks to the capabilities of the human mind and just how important creativity is to progression development.
I think what makes this even more remarkable (if that’s possible) is that Pranav Mistry is not locked away in the basement of some corporation as a golden goose for profit. That this information and the access to this is planned to be open-sourced and available for anyone shatters so many ideas of people that I’ve clung to. Wow.
The skeptic in me creeps out yet again though. I begin to wonder how this is going to be swallowed and locked away somehow and become accessible for only the sickeningly-rich for the profit of a few. The potential for misuse, the negative impact someone empowered with this technology would be capable of. It’s amazing how when my mind is blown how I retract to the negative. Where at first I was just blown away has become self-reflective in how I view the world and possibility.
